Engage Announced as Headline Awards Sponsors

Banking and Payment Service Provider, Engage is the lead sponsor of this year’s Credit Unions of Wales Awards being held later this year.

The Awards will celebrate the contribution made by those volunteers, members, schools and partner employers to the ongoing success of the credit union movement in Wales.

Engage works exclusively with credit unions to provide credit union members with an ethical current account and debit card facility. The Engage account and Visa debit card works just like an account from a high street bank but is only available from Engage partner credit unions.

The Engage card can be used to shop, pay bills and save money with its cashback rewards involving a number of major retailers such as Asda, Argos and Marks & Spencer.

Each Engage account comes with a unique budgeting feature to help credit union members set money aside for bills and other expenditure by placing funds into virtual envelopes.

Envelopes are simple to set up and can be done by the account holder or credit union staff. Once set up that allocated amount of money is automatically ring fenced when it goes into the account, keeping essential bill funds and spending money separate.

Geoff Leech, Managing Director of Engage said: “Once again we are pleased to sponsoring and contributing to the Credit Union of Wales Awards.

“As the only end-to-end banking and payments organisation that works exclusively with the Credit Union movement, we are pleased to have the opportunity to provide our support and to help drive recognition for the great work our credit unions undertake”.

Supported by the Welsh Government, the Credit Unions of Wales Awards will take place at The Pierhead Building, Cardiff Bay on Friday 2 October 2020.
